Dance fitness classes in Shefford
Five dance classes a week, and not one of them expects you to be able to dance. The routines are easy to follow, the music does most of the work, and GlowBeatz runs with the lights down and glow sticks out. Between them Kate and Donna hold DanceFit, Beatz, Zumba, Step and Exercise to Music qualifications going back years.
The dance classes we run
Beatz and GlowBeatz
Forty five minutes of easy to follow dances to your favourite tunes, some old and some new. For GlowBeatz the lights go down and the glow sticks come out, which makes it feel a lot less like exercise than it actually is. Beatz runs Tuesday mornings and GlowBeatz on Monday evenings, both with Kate.
DanceFit
A fun, upbeat workout using simple dance moves with some Latin American ones thrown in. Great music, plenty of energy, and you really do not need to be a dancer, because the routines are easy to follow and you can just enjoy moving to the music. Wednesday and Thursday evenings with Donna.
Step Up
Non stop stepping that builds into a routine, with Kate guiding you through the moves as you go. It is good cardio, and it is genuinely good for memory and coordination too. Monday evenings.
If you cannot dance
Then you are in the majority, and it makes no difference. Nobody is watching you, the routines repeat until they stick, and the instructors break everything down before putting it together.

DanceFit

Kettlebell Club
Full body strength and conditioning with kettlebells, to music. Strength, fitness, balance and coordination across a range of exercises. Donna demonstrates every movement and helps you pick a weight that suits, so beginners are welcome. Expect to work hard, but you can go at your own pace.
Lower Body Club
A targeted workout to music focusing on legs, glutes and core, mostly bodyweight with some dumbbells added in. Squats, lunges, core work and plenty of exercises to strengthen and tone. You work at a level that suits you, whether you're a complete beginner or well past that.

Common questions
I cannot dance at all. Will I be able to keep up?
Yes, and most people in the room would say the same about themselves. The routines are built to be picked up as you go, they repeat, and the instructor breaks each part down before putting it together.
What is GlowBeatz?
The same easy to follow format as Beatz, but with the lights turned down and glow sticks out. It has been described as a night out without the hangover, which is about right.
What is the difference between Beatz and DanceFit?
Beatz is dance routines to popular tracks. DanceFit mixes simple dance moves with Latin American inspired ones. Both are easy to follow and neither needs any dance background.
Is Step Up a dance class?
Not quite. It is non stop stepping that builds into a routine, so it is closer to choreographed cardio. It is also good for memory and coordination.
What should I wear?
Trainers and something you can move in. Bring water, because these classes get warmer than people expect.
Do I need a Vibes Gym membership?
No. Anyone can book. Vibes Gym members pay less per class, but membership is not required.
