Pilates classes in Shefford
Vibes Studio runs 5 Pilates classes a week at 3E St Francis Way in Shefford, 2 doors down from Vibes Gym. Mat, Sculpt and Restore Pilates, plus a Mums Pilates class where babies and toddlers come along. Every class is mixed ability, mats are provided, and you do not need a gym membership to book.
The Pilates classes we run
Mat Pilates
This is the one to start with. It builds core strength and full body control through low impact, controlled movement, working the abdomen, lower back, hips and pelvic floor. Whether you are completely new to Pilates or have been practising for years, there are options throughout so you can work at whatever level suits you on the day. It runs on Monday mornings with Keshora and again on Friday mornings with Sarah.
Sculpt Pilates
A stronger, more demanding session that builds on everything covered in the mat class, so it helps to have a few of those behind you before you try it. It runs on Tuesday late mornings with Keshora.
Restore Pilates
Slower and far more recovery focused, working on mobility and control rather than pushing the intensity, which makes it a good one to pair with harder training during the week. It runs on Thursday mornings with Keshora.
Mums Pilates
Designed and adapted with new mums in mind, focusing on posture, recovery and core strength as you come back to training. Babies and toddlers are welcome in the room, so there is no childcare to arrange before you can come. Sarah is qualified in pre and post natal exercise, which means it is a safe place to start again rather than a general class you have been squeezed into. It runs on Thursday afternoons.

Mums Pilates
Designed and adapted with new mums in mind, helping restore and balance the body with a focus on posture, recovery and core strength. Sarah is qualified in pre and post natal exercise, so it is a safe place to start training again. The exercises target post natal needs and relieve the stress and tension after birth, building the muscle groups behind the functional movements and positions new mums end up in, including the demands of pregnancy, holding and feeding.
Mat Pilates
Builds deep core strength, tones muscles, improves posture and increases flexibility through low impact, controlled movements. It targets the abdomen, lower back, hips and pelvic floor to work on total body stability and joint mobility.
Baby & Me Strength
A class for mums with babies and tots, so there is no childcare to sort out. The focus is core strength, tone and flexibility. A way to train and meet other mums at the same time.
Out of the studio, walks and paddle boarding on the Ivel with her bulldog, Teddy.

Common questions
Is Pilates suitable for complete beginners?
Not at all. Every Pilates class here is mixed ability and the instructors give options throughout, so you work at whatever level suits you. Mat Pilates is where most people start.
What is the difference between Mat, Sculpt and Restore Pilates?
Mat Pilates is the foundation class and the one to start with. Sculpt Pilates is stronger and more demanding, and Restore Pilates is slower, with the focus on mobility and recovery rather than effort.
Do I need to bring a mat?
No, mats are provided for you. Pilates is done barefoot or in grip socks, so come in something comfortable you can move in and bring water.
Can I bring my baby to a Pilates class?
Yes, to Mums Pilates on Thursday afternoons. It is built around mums with babies and toddlers in the room, so there is nothing to arrange before you come.
Do I need a Vibes Gym membership?
No. Anyone can book. Vibes Gym members pay less per class, but membership is not required.
