Spin classes in Shefford

Vibes Ride is our spin class at 3E St Francis Way in Shefford. Indoor cycling ridden to the beat of the music, with climbs, sprints and intervals timed to the track. With only 9 bikes for riders, it is the smallest class we run. You set your own resistance as you go, so it works just as well whether it is your first ride or your hundredth.

What Vibes Ride is

Ridden to the music

The whole class is built around the track, so the climbs, sprints and intervals land with the beat rather than on a stopwatch. It runs for 45 minutes with the lights down, and the instructor talks you through all of it.

Only 9 bikes

Nine riders and the instructor, and that is the whole room. It is the smallest class on the timetable, which is exactly why it fills up faster than anything else we run, so it is worth booking as soon as the 14 day window opens.

No experience needed

Because you set your own resistance and pick your own intensity, beginners and regulars can ride the same class at completely different efforts without anyone noticing. The instructor will set the bike up with you the first time you come.

DanceFit

A fun, upbeat workout using simple dance moves with some Latin American ones thrown in. Great music, plenty of energy, and you don't need to be a dancer. The routines are easy to follow and you can just enjoy moving to the music.

Kettlebell Club

Full body strength and conditioning with kettlebells, to music. Strength, fitness, balance and coordination across a range of exercises. Donna demonstrates every movement and helps you pick a weight that suits, so beginners are welcome. Expect to work hard, but you can go at your own pace.

Lower Body Club

A targeted workout to music focusing on legs, glutes and core, mostly bodyweight with some dumbbells added in. Squats, lunges, core work and plenty of exercises to strengthen and tone. You work at a level that suits you, whether you're a complete beginner or well past that.

Common questions

How many people are in a spin class?

Nine, which makes it the smallest class we run. That is also why it books up faster than anything else on the timetable.

I have never been to a spin class. Is it beginner friendly?

Yes. You control your own resistance and intensity throughout, and the instructor sets your bike up with you and explains everything as the class goes. Come a few minutes early for your first one and there will be time to sort the bike out with you.

When do the spin classes run?

Tuesday evenings and Thursday early mornings from launch week, and a Saturday morning class joins them from 26 September.

What should I bring?

Just water and a pair of trainers. You do not need cycling shoes, because the bikes take normal trainers.

Do I need a Vibes Gym membership?

No. Anyone can book. Vibes Gym members pay less per class, but membership is not required.
